I would like to suggest a feauter / improvement for timezone handling, based on the following situation:

I have some trouble with tracking of my time if I use a computer with a different timezone as in the settings. Will be great, if the tracker could dynamically recalculate time table based on my computers timezone without change the settings every time.

Best regards,
VK

Why do you use it this way? Do you travel often?

TMetric is not designed to "recalculate" time-sheet every time you change the time zone. For distributed teams it's not acceptable, because your co-workers can't know your computer's time zone.

Hello Aleksandr,

thank you for your feedback, yes I'm traveling a lot through USA and Europe. Sometimes I'm every day a week in a different timezone. My computer and smartphone change timezone settings automatically based on my location. In this case, I always need to think about to change my timezone settings in TMetrics as well.

For example: JIRA time tracking store times in GTM format and allow recalculation in current timezone via JavaScript, which is always using current computers timezone (just as an idea).

Regards,
Vitali

Hi Vitali,
We actually used to have the behavior you are requesting.

However, we decided to change this to current behavior due to problems distributed teams working in different time-zones were experiencing while generating reports.
The person requesting a report cannot possibly know the actual time-zone of all team members.
This caused a lot of confusion.
Therefore, we have made the decision to use the time from account settings to make sure all reports and invoices are consistent.

I hope for your understanding.
