I downloaded and installed the desktop app for mac, but I get the error message:

unable to open the database file.

Press OK to ignore and risk data corruption.

Press Abort to kill the program.

Even if I click OK nothing happens.

Do you have any solution?

Thanks,

Hi. We are now checking the issue. Could you please let us know in the meantime, what system version you have and whether you've updated the Desktop app or installed it from scratch?

Will it also be possible to find the logs and send over? You can find them here: Machintosh/Users/<user name>/.Devart(this folder is hidden)/TMetric Desktop

I did install the Desktop app downloading the Mac package from your site and my system is Sierra 10.13.6.

I cannot find the .Devart folder in that path... there are other hidden folders, but not that one.

Have you used TMetric Desktop before? If yes, did everything work well before the update?

Or did you install it for the first time and got the error when you started the app?

Could you please try to find the file settigns.ini or the file TMetricDesktop.db? These are system files.

As we understood from your initial message there was a conflict with the database, in this regard we recommend you to rename the file TMetricDesktop.db and then try to start the app again.

When you find the mentioned files, you will also find the logs in that folder.

Please let us know if this information was helpful.

Hi,

yes, it is the first time I install TMetric Desktop and I got the error when I started the app.

I am sorry, but I am not a technician and I am unable to locate the files you mentioned, since hidden files cannot be found with CTRL+F. I am a very simple basic user.

I am sorry, but if there is no solution for dummies I will have to uninstall the app.

Thanks

Hi,

We've found an article about how to find hidden files on Mac - https://ianlunn.co.uk/articles/quickly-showhide-hidden-files-mac-os-x-mavericks/

Besides, here is a screenshot of where the hidden files are located (test folder was created as an example for you):

Please check the sources, and we hope this information will be of great help for you.

I tried this 1 week ago and unfortunately there was no Devart folder, not 1 week ago, neither today.

I was really eager to try Tmetric, I am very sorry it doesn't work.

I'm sorry to hear that...

Could you please try to delete the app and then to re-install it again?
